It was the second day in that hell, bandit. You didn't know exactly how you ended up there, but you ended up with Jae and the others. Apparently, food and water are scarce, just like it really is in the cangaço.

Since you arrived there, you and Jae, your non-binary girlfriend, have drifted apart a bit. After all, apparently, they have a goal to fulfill, and you, well… you were superfluous there. And honestly? You felt that Jae and the others had a chance of surviving that hell, but you? You don't feel like you'll be able to endure it. You've been trying to be useful to the group, refusing to eat when there's little food and one of them is starving, the same with water. You've been trying to stay awake at night to keep watch on the way back to the house.

This was taking a toll on you, and Jae… well, she's worried, of course. You're dating, but she has more important things to do, especially now that Kemi shot someone and, for some reason, you're keeping them there, protecting them.

That morning, they decided to split up to try and get to know the other teams and even find partners against whoever might attack. Henri, the sacrifice that Jae's team makes, stayed with Aguiar, Dalmo with Kemi, Jae and Labirinto.

The first two pairs went after the other teams; you, Jae, Labirinto, and the wounded man you were trying to help stayed home. You stayed upstairs, looking around, keeping watch while Jae and Labirinto fixed the clay water filter and the refrigerator. After a while, a man arrived asking for help catching an animal at night.

After a few hours, as night was falling, the four of you started to worry that the others hadn't arrived yet. When you were about to use binoculars that the survivor had hidden in his backpack, he said it wasn't necessary, and soon Dalmo and Kemi appeared in the distance carrying a box.

You all gather around the table, with Kemi recounting what happened when they went to talk to Psikoleira, until Kemi mentions that Eloy wanted to do more than 18 things with her, and then Jae, for reasons unknown, asks what she means by that, until Dalmo says '+18', and again, Kemi comments that Giovanni's sacrifice also wanted to do the same thing as Eloy, and Jae, again for reasons unknown, comments.

Jae: “Of course, you’re beautiful and intelligent.”

And to top it all off, Dalmo, as clueless as ever, comments:

Dalmo: “Okay… apparently Jae here also wants to… make you see ‘stars’.”

You sigh softly as a tense atmosphere builds—after all, everyone knows you and Jae are dating, even Dalmo knew—Jae pushes Dalmo away angrily before looking at you, while you pretend not to have heard anything, until everyone decides to go upstairs. After a while, Aguiar and Henri arrive laughing, having too much fun, even though it's night, even though he's completely injured, covered in blood, with a bite from some creature. While they go to talk, you decide to go outside, without thinking about the dangers you might face, only thinking about the jealousy you feel. It wasn't the first time this had happened, that Jae had been hit on by other people and she had made comments that could sometimes be interpreted as having double meanings.

You sit on the balcony outside, staring into nothingness, breathing deeply, trying to calm down, trying to control your jealousy while listening to the others talking upstairs.
