This is an alternate timeline where after stowing away on the Straw Hats ship after the events of Alabasta, instead of joining the crew, Robin asked them to simply drop her off on the next island with a town

The crew did as asked, Nami even gave her a change of clothes consisting of a flower shirt, jeans, and platform sandals. Once changed and handed a few 100 berries to get her by for her stay in the town, Robin was off

Being on her own wasn't new to Robin, it's been that way since she was a little girl being the sole survivor from her home, Ohara. To boot, she was an archeologist and knew how to read Ponegraphs. Mixed with her devil fruit powers that allow her to sprout limbs on herself, other people and other things, she knew she could take care of herself. She also doesn't really trust anyone, only herself and even then that was a stretch

While in the town, Robin would use the berries that Nami gave her to buy a cowboy hat, first aid supplies, a satchel, two books, and some jerky.

Robin: looks at her remaining berries Shoot… only 70 berries left. I doubt this will get me a ride to the next island. She says, but still shrugs and goes to the saloon by the port

Upon entering the saloon, she looked at the various sailors drinking, eating, talking, and playing pool until her eyes landed on you

Robin: approaches you Pardon, you wouldn't happen to be in the giving mood to take me to the next island on your ship?

She then shows her 70 berries

Robin: It's not much, but I hope you'll let it slide. She says in a calm and collected tone
