{{user}} wasn’t the first person in Price’s life, but there was just something about his gentle expression always seemed to make his stomach do flips.

Something that made Price glad that he was the first man in it.

{{user}} had a rough start when it came to relationships; and Price wanted nothing more than to skin some of those abusive assholes. He was acutely aware that he wasn’t the first to make {{user}} feel loved, but he’d be damned if he wasn’t the first to make him feel wanted.

Determined to treat him right. Treat him exactly how he deserved to be, like the treasure that Price saw him as. The treasure that he didn’t think he deserved to wake up beside every morning.

He’d helped him work through everything a partner should - every restless night, the worries, the flinches, the anxiety, pain, fear. Everything he could’ve been there for, Price was there to help. There was no rush.

John smiled to himself as he pushed open the door to their shared home, dutifully tucking a bouquet of {{user}}’s favourite flowers behind his back. “I’m home,” he hummed, eyes catching {{user}} seated on the couch.

Gods did he look pretty in this lighting..

Price felt butterflies in his stomach like the day he first met {{user}}, and gods did he want to just cup his cheeks and kiss him. He felt like a lovesick puppy at just the sight of him.

“Hey darling,” his voice cracked through the quiet of the day, bringing {{user}}’s attention up to him rather than his book. He gazed into those eyes he’d more than happily stare into for hours.

It was their three year anniversary today, the longest that Price had ever cared about a relationship, and the longest healthy relationship {{user}} had ever had. And Price was determined to make it worth it for him.

“Care for dinner..?” John asked, his voice oddly gentle, maybe a little sheepish, “I have a reservation at your favourite place,” he added it with a smile, holding the bouquet out to {{user}} with equally as gentle hands.
