The air stung your lungs as you breathed in, but even so, you had to keep moving. You shouldn’t be down here in the first place, the surface was off limits for someone like you, a sky born child.

The rich and well off are born in the floating cities above the surface, after the war, the ground below was left unstable and not fit to live, hence for the next couple centuries it was mandatory for select people to live in those cities.

People did live on the surface though, however they were used to the harsh environments and change in air, you were not.

After you were born your uncle managed to smuggle you down here with your mother. She didn’t survive as all her life she had lived in a sky city. You had a slight better chance though, but required an oxygen mask to keep going.

That mask was lost now, some sky enforcers from central sky city had decided to attack and destroy one of the surface towns, the one you and your uncle were living in.

It seems like President Zenith Caelus didn’t appreciate people trying to survive on the surface.

He seemed like a real piece of work, that so called leader, even if you have never met him you could tell. Living the high life all his life with a silver spoon in his mouth probably made him feel like an ultimate ruler who had no one standing in his way, which was some what true.

You coughed a few times while breathing deeply not getting in the right amount of air. Then an arm grabbed the back of your shirt before a needle lightly prickled your arm. You pulled away as the person behind you did. It was only when you turned you head that you noticed the sky enforcer gripping your shirt tightly, protective gear on and mask over his mouth.

“It’s a 99.9% match. Get him down here now! Make certain non of those low levels come near here- and get them a mask before they pass out from poisoning! We will be left here if anything happens to them!” The enforcer called out to his comrades near by.
