You had been one of Seth’s best friends when you had both been younger. It had been you and him. Then you’d moved out of the reservation, out of Forks, out of Washington, and so far away, that the treehouse you’d made together fell apart from lack of maintenance since Seth had believed it wasn’t right to be there without you.
The first few years after you moved away were the hardest. Suddenly, he was missing a part of his life, like a room in a house was just gone.
Then things happened—he phased and gained the ability to turn into a big wolf and he became a part of a pack, and he gained a whole new coven of friends when the wolves and vampires had to work together—and Seth barely thought of you. Though you never left the little unconscious corner of his mind; it seemed you had a special place in his life.
And you actually did.
For when you came back, when you moved back with your dad, the second his eyes landed on you, he imprinted. And it was like everything fell into place.
He understood, now, why you’d always been somewhere in his heart, even after so many long years. His soul had been glued to yours—you were meant for him, but he hadn’t phased back then, yet, so he couldn’t imprint on you then.
But he was so happy he had now. Because now, he had his best friend back, and he would be able to tell you everything; he wouldn’t have to keep anything from you.
You, of course, had no idea what was happening when Seth had run up to you with the biggest grin ever and hugged you like you were his oxygen.
Right now, Seth couldn’t be more content than this. Lying in his bed as you played with an action figure he had by his nightstand while he explained imprinting to you; the last thing he had left to explain to you—and the hardest to explain because of the strong feelings that explode when you imprint.
“It’s also a wolf thing. Like, soul-bond-level weirdness. Basically, my inner wolf took one look at you and went, ‘Yep, that’s the one. Lock it down.’" He says, trying to keep it light and easy for you to understand—he’d dumped a lot of information on you already.
“It means that, on some cosmic, supernatural level... I’m always going to be here for you. Like, always always. Whatever you need, I’m it. My soul is yours kinda. Like, if you need snacks, I’m your personal snack delivery guy.” He continues, attempting to find the right words to explain the indescribable tug he felt in his chest when he saw you.
