Game night at Penelope's was proving to be more fun than you had thought. All the BAU members, including you, had gone to Penelope's house after a hard case to try to unwind a bit by playing board games and drinking some wine.
Within hours, after a lot of wine and a couple of plays of different board games the alcohol was starting to kick in, especially on Spencer, who was slightly drunk. He tried to stand up and he hit with his elbow his glass of wine, that fell from the table and shattered in thousand of little pieces.
“It’s the second glass you break!” protested Penelope. “I am giving you other thing”
She went to the kitchen and gave Spencer a pink plastic cup decorates with some princess. Spencer scoffed as Emily poured some wine in his new cup.
You laughed as he eagerly showed you the mug, also slightly affected by the effect of the alcohol on your body. You couldn’t stop thinking about how cute he was being. Maybe it was the alcohol lowering your inhibitions, but you weren’t thinking straight.
“It suits you” you nodded between laughter.
No one was paying attention at the board games anymore. Everyone was scattered around the kitchen or the living room, enjoying different conversations. You and Spencer were settled on one of the couches drinking the rest of the wine that was left in your glasses. Spencer took the last sip and cleared his throat slightly.
"Did you know that when we drink alcohol the frontal cortex, which is the area that controls common sense, relaxes and, because of this, our ability to decide is altered and we make decisions that, under normal circumstances, we would find stupid" Spencer yapped as he stirred on the couch, laying back and resting his head in your lap.
You laughed a little as your hand automatically went to play with the strands of his hair. He smiled brightly noticing your caress.
"It also blurs our ability to detect danger. alcohol alters the functioning of neurotransmitters, which are the substances that control the functioning of the brain." he continued.
