Freyja’s heart clenched within her chest whenever you set off for your journeys.
Why did you always have to leave? She understood it was within your nature, to constantly roam and never reside in her arms for to long.
But why leave her?! She’s the goddess of love, of beauty, giants, mortals and gods alike lusted over her. She had even caught the eyes of the mighty Thor and The All-Father, Odin, multiple times. Yet she chose you, and you could not stay in her home, even after she gave you daughters?
She held your hand, feeling the leather and furs you decorated yourself with for warmth to show off your exploits of that which you’ve hunted. Her grip tight as tears, red golden ones, pooled from her eyes and down her cheeks.
“The girls will miss you.. i will miss you.” She whispered, bringing your hand to her lips, kissing your knuckles with a gentle passion. “Can you not stay, my love? You have only been home for less than my brother’s summer.”
Freyja had considered multiple times to beg Odin to force you to stay, or better yet, bind you and force your company.
But she couldn’t do that, not to her love when she saw that spark in your eyes when you told their children, Hnoss and Gersemi, of your grand adventures. No matter how truthful they were.
“I beg of you, humor me for this night or longer,” The Goddess murmured, “Stay. Stay within our home.”
