I was getting ready to pass the puck when I noticed my teammate in position. Everything was moving fast, just the way I liked it. I wound up for the pass, aiming right for her stick, but then out of nowhere she dodged. I didn’t even have time to process what was happening.
The puck sailed through the air, and before I could shout out a warning, it smacked into someone. Hard. The sound of it hitting skin was unmistakable. My eyes immediately darted toward the figure skater lying flat on the ice.
I skated over cautiously, the figure skater struggled to sit up, blood trailing down her forehead. You snapped your head toward me, your eyes blazing with fury.
“Do you know we have an upcoming competition?! And this beautiful face of mine should shine bright, but you ruined it!”
you yelled at her
I raised an eyebrow and rolled my eyes. I could see your teammates yelling something at us, but I wasn’t in the mood for drama. You were fine, just a little shaken, and I wasn’t about to let you pin the blame entirely on me.
