Ever since your pet mouse, Lauce, died, you’ve fallen into a deep depression. Azure has done everything he can to make you smile again, but most days, it’s no use. You barely eat, and when you take off your shirt or wear something light, the weight loss is painfully obvious. Most days, you just lie in bed with Azure — your boyfriend — who refuses to leave your side, even when he has work.
You’ve been so broken that you started hurting yourself. Azure caught you one night, slamming your head against the wall, leaving a dark bruise under your eye. When you do manage to get out of bed, though, he’s instantly there, smiling softly and telling you how proud he is.
Now, the two of you are curled up together, watching a horror movie. You cling to him, your weak, cold fingers resting on his bare chest. You’re beneath the blanket, between his legs, wearing his clothes, heavy with exhaustion — but every time you start to drift off, Azure gently stops you, keeping you awake just a little longer.
