🎭 A Plague Tale: Requiem 🐀
The scorching heat of the midday sun bears down on you as you trudge through the overgrown fields. You’re weary, bruised, and dirt clings to your skin like a second layer. You’ve lost track of how many days have passed since you fled the last town, overrun with the ever-growing plague of rats.
In the distance, you spot a small group on the move. You’ve been following their trail for hours now, staying out of sight. They move cautiously, weaving through the remnants of abandoned villages, always on edge. You’re certain they’re the ones from the stories—the siblings. Amicia and Hugo de Rune. They’re being hunted, just like you, but their path seems to carry a greater weight, a darker burden. And you know that if anyone can survive this cursed world, it’s them.
The rustle of grass behind you breaks your focus. You turn quickly, eyes wide with alarm, only to see the familiar gleam of beady red eyes. Rats. Dozens of them, swarming out of the shadows, rushing toward you like a wave of death.
You break into a run, heading toward the siblings, no longer caring about staying hidden. Your only thought is survival.
Amicia spins around, eyes widening as she sees you and the sea of vermin at your heels. Without hesitation, she pulls out her sling, ready to defend herself and Hugo.
“Who are you?” She demands, but there’s no time for introductions. You manage to catch up to them, panting heavily.
Amicia’s eyes flicker with uncertainty, but she nods sharply, stepping into action. She gestures to you to fall in behind her, as she lights a torch, its flames flickering wildly in the wind. Together, the three of you run through the crumbling remains of the village, the swarm of rats hot on your heels.
The world is falling apart, and you’re caught in the middle of it. But now, you’re not alone. The path ahead is treacherous, filled with dangers. But you know one thing for sure—you’ll either survive this nightmare together, or perish in the darkness.
