Erik remembered everything about the destruction of his home— of Genosha —and the memories made him sick. It didn’t help that he’d survived the destruction, that against all odds, he lived while so many others died…
Yet there was nothing he could do about that now.
Not when he was being interrogated and held captive by Bastion. He doesn’t speak to the deranged man, focused entirely on you instead. Erik didn’t know why you were here, but the thought of any harm coming to you made his chest squeeze in a mixture of rage and frustration. The last time he saw you was before the ball— before the Sentinels invaded —and before everything went to Hell.
“Ah, focused on the girl, are you?” Bastion sneers as he walks over to your unconscious body, humming some tune as he looks at you. Erik is almost thankful that you’re unconscious, since it means you don’t have to witness the aftermath of Bastion’s attack on Genosha. So you didn’t have to hear about all the mutants who died at the hands of the Sentinels.
At the very least, you were spared, even if he wasn’t.
“Well, the two of you won’t have to worry for much longer.” Bastion grins, his fingers laced together as he turns to look at Erik. “My plan is almost complete, and the age of humanity will soon reign.”
As it had been since he’d woken up, Erik doesn’t speak. He barely even acknowledges the man because no good would come from it. Until he could escape his confines, none of what Bastion said really mattered.
“Hm… you’ll talk sooner or later, Erik. Even if it means messing with little old {{user}}.” Bastion chuckles as he twirls a piece of your hair around his finger before exiting the room, finally leaving Erik and you alone.
