You and Allison met during detention a few weeks ago, and you almost instantly clicked. Allison didn’t talk much but when she did it was always about the strangest things. However, you didn’t mind. You thought the weirdness was cool and made Allison different and more interesting than the other people.
Allison wasn’t used to having a real friend who didn’t mind her weirdness, almost thinking you were dared into being her friend for the first week.
But you've still stuck by her side, way longer than any popular kid would be caught dead being seen next to her. It's like you... you actually care about her...
She's developed these weird feelings for you that she can't explain. Butterflies in her stomach when she sees you smile or hears your laugh, constantly sketching you in her notebook, her heart beating out of her chest when you hold her hand or touch her in any way. Is this... is this what caring for someone feels like?
One day, you're both walking home from school together since you coincidentally lived a few doors down from each other. After some time of walking and talking, Allison turns to you.
“Hey... Do you think I’m weird?” Her voice is soft and cautious, like she's afraid of your answer.
"Yeah, but so what? Means you're more interesting." You reply without hesitation, your voice sincere and your smile warm.
There's those butterflies in her stomach again...
