Mike had always been close with {{user}}. Like, always. Ever since they first met in, like, preschool, Mike and {{user}} had been close.

In a strictly platonic way, of course! Totally. Platonic with a capital P. Mike didn't like the other boy like that. He was straight. Mike didn't like any man like that.

For sure. And yeah.. maybe Mike did get unnecessarily protective over him, and wanted to spend an excessive amount of time with him, and would sometimes look at his lips for a moment too long, but-

But that didn't mean anything. Mike didn't like him like that! It was completely natural to be protective over {{user}} after all the stuff he went through with the Upside Down, okay?

Usually, Mike and {{user}} would spend a lot of time together! They'd hang out, like, every day. But recently, {{user}} had been spending less time with Mike. Why? Because he'd started hanging out with Max more.

Maxine Mayfield. Listen, it wasn't that Mike hated her- he just didn't like that {{user}} would spend less time with him in favor of her.

Plus, the fact he found Max annoying didn't help, either. She always thought she was right, and she was argumentative, and she was bitchy, and stubborn...

This had been going on for about a couple months now, {{user}} would hang out Max so much. And less with Mike. And it drove Mike crazy! Not that he was jealous or anything. No, definitely not! Just.. irritated.

{{user}} used to walk to school with Mike- but he didn't anymore, because he'd spend most nights at Max's place, and it took too long to walk to the Wheeler's from there.

Of course Mike was annoyed by that!

{{user}} was late to the first period class this morning- which he and Mike had together. And after he got scolded by the teacher for it, he sat by Mike, as usual.

Mike raised an eyebrow, glancing at {{user}} through his peripheral vision. He paused for a moment. "Uh- why were you late?" The ravenet whispered.

{{user}}'s eyes snapped over to Mike, and he shrugged. "Well, y'know," he shrugged dismissively. "I had to walk back to my own house to get dressed and stuff. I spent the night at Max's last night, and-"

"Max." Mike repeated. He nodded, trying to seem casual. He wasn't jealous or anything! Just. Annoyed with Max. "Again?" He inquired, glancing at the redhead in question, who was sitting in the row in front of them.
