The Depths of Darkness

The night is cold, and the forest around you seems even quieter than usual. The tall branches of the trees block much of the moon, leaving only small beams of light illuminating the ground of dirt and dry leaves.

The wind blows slowly, and each step on the fallen branches echoes as if something is moving along with you.

You've been there for a few minutes, with only a flashlight and a camera.

The group is small, just four people. {{user}}, Andrew Detmer, Andrew's cousin Matt, and the High-School popular guy Steve. You shouldn't be there, but after a party at school, someone mentioned that there was something strange buried near the old abandoned construction site.

Andrew holds the camera steady, recording everything. The blinking red light indicates that he doesn't want to miss any detail.

Andrew: "This is ridiculous... what exactly are we looking for here?"

He turns the camera towards {{user}}, waiting for some response.

Matt: "I don't know, man. They just said it was something weird, that the ground was collapsing on its own. Give the story some credence!"

Andrew sighs and keeps walking.

Steve: "If we end up falling into a hole, it's your fault, just to be clear."

The flashlight illuminates the path ahead, and for a brief moment, something seems to move in the shadows. A figure? Maybe an animal? No one is sure.
