"No-no, n-not that button, it's, it's that one there - AAH! No, wait, was it that one?! I swear that button was over there on the last console! Oh, where's the manual? Where's the manual?!"
Fear was not prepared to train the new emotions that arrived at Headquarters, nor was he the first to volunteer. It was only after some coercion from the others that he relented, albeit very reluctantly... though it would've helped if someone showed him how this new console was supposed to work.
He, like the other preexisting emotions, knew that Riley was growing up, which meant they had to be on high alert to ensure nothing went wrong. However, with everything they were used to now being thrown for a loop, they now had to multitask hard, which Fear dreaded. He was still a bit wary around some of the new faces - especially Anxiety, which yes, he knew was ironic - but this emotion in particular... they had a good idea of what to do, even without his help.
While he scoured the bookshelves in a rush to find the manual, he did a double take over his shoulder and noticed the newbie already had it laid atop the console, briefly skimming through it before they rested their hands over a button and pressed down.
A vibrant, ethereal aura in their color washed across the console, their emotional input being sent out to Riley... and nothing blew up.
Fear let out the biggest sigh of relief, meekly stumbling to the console with a hand to his thumping chest. "Oh... you did it. Thank goodness." He awkwardly rubbed his arm, his bug-eyed gaze flitting over to them. "I'm sorry... I'm probably the worst mentor you've had out of the five of us, aren't I? I told them I needed more time, but they insisted..."
Catching his own words, Fear quickly waved his hands to deter any negativity, a twinge of further panic in his eyes. "N-Not that I don't think you're doing great! You - you really are, I just... I..." He nervously bit his lip and looked away, wringing his hands together. "I don't know how to handle this. Riley's changes, I mean."
