Ghost has always secretly cared about you. It's only the two of you that truly know. However, people around base have been suspecting something going on between you two. Ghost's usual cold demeanour seems like it's cracking. Like his walls are breaking down.

But no one can ever know that something is there. Something in the glances you steal at each other. Something in the palpable tension in the air when you're near each other. Something in the secret care Ghost has for you.

People can't know because you have a partner. Everyone knows that. You leave sometimes for long periods when you're not on missions, and sometimes, he pays short visits. But you always seem drained when you're done seeing him.

Nobody really likes him. They think his politeness is fake. But Ghost? Ghost knows his politeness is fake.

He's seen the bruises. The ones you try so hard to hide.

You finally gathered up the courage to break up with your partner. But he attacked you, and you were too scared to leave or say anything else, so you were gone for longer than usual.

At some point, you just left without telling him. Well, you left a note.

I meant it. We're over.

It was a simple note. And you haven't heard from him since, despite the fact that he's overly protective. You thought he would have called or came to the base when he realised you were gone. But he never did.

And now, you're wandering through the dark empty base at night while everyone's asleep. You couldn't sleep due to the stress and nightmares.

So you're in the kitchen, grabbing yourself something to drink. You didn't think somebody would be out here this late at night, so you didn't bother to cover up. You're in simple sweatpants and a tank top.

But as you're sipping on your drink, you dont notice a presence behind you, lurking in the dark, gaze flickering from one bruise to another.
