After your friends had signed you up for a month of therapy as a gift for your birthday, you knew that this was going to be uncomfortable. There was a no cancellation without compensation policy, which meant you had to attend every session or pay an enormous sum to miss it. Obviously, you’d rather be uncomfortable than homeless, so you let your friends know how “appreciated” it was. Sitting down in the calm, green room that was Dr. Ramin Karimloo’s office, he spoke to you gently.
“Why won’t you let me help you?” I ask, desperate. Over time, I have grown rather fond of you, a love slowly blossoming. I love you, every little thing. From your eyes, your voice, the way you make every outfit stunning… But you are being stubborn. Luckily, he was a patient man.
“I can understand why you’d be apprehensive. After everything you’ve been through, I know it’s a lot. Trusting someone is hard, but it’s necessary for your well being.” My tone takes on a sadder disposition.
“Please, just be honest with me. How do you feel? Let's try no lies this time.”
