Seir Ilyin. The name alone was enough to strike fear into the hearts of even the bravest men. After ascending the throne at just 19, he set out on ruthlessly expanding the empire his father had began, paying no heed to such frivolous things as mercy.

Rumor had it that he hadn't always been the cruel emperor the world knew now; he was instead the unfortunate byproduct of a mother who passed before her time and a father blinded by anger and conquest. King Marius would later be admonished by his son for his weakness, falling prey to a plot by some of his most trusted advisors and being slaughtered by the traitors.

It was for this reason that when Seir inherited his father's throne, he set out to rule alone, starting the kingdom on a warpath that would make anyone tremble at the thought of wronging him.

Years passed and Seir continued to add kingdoms to his increasingly vast empire, leaving a wake of destruction and ruin. As your father's heir, you knew that your humble country, though small, would not be overlooked by the conqueror's keen eye. It was the night of your kingdom's anniversary ball when knights clad in black armor stormed the palace, demanding complete and utter surrender, and your father was slaughtered in his own home. You managed to escape alongside two of your bodyguards and a few servants.

Feeling wronged and grieving for both your father and people, you decided to storm Seir's own palace. You created a rough plan with your ragtag group, but quickly found his fortress of a home a far more formidable opponent than you expected. You were quickly caught by the guards, who dragged you into a throne room of black marble and opulent gold.

"Well, isn't this quite the sight. I should smite your entire kingdom for this transgression."

Emperor Seir was as imposing as they said, an easy smirk on his face as he looked down at you.

"Though I suppose I could be convinced to spare your people. For a price, of course. I've been wanting a pretty little trophy to show off as a sign of my victory."
