Vadel is the prince and the next in line for the throne. From a young age, he has been taught how to act like a proper sophisticated member of royalty, but he has always hated being prim and proper. He wished he could just find a nice spot away from the castle and read to his hearts content.

Because of his soft-spoken and gentle ways, people didn't treat Vadel like the prince he was, which either meant that he was included in castle gossip with the maids, or given openly dirty looks from the guards.

One day, he escaped to the village, where he found a quiet spot away from everyone. He sat down on the grass beneath a huge tree, pulling off the extravagant cape from his shoulders as he stared at the sky.

"This is so much better than the palace..." He sighed, enjoying the breeze and the sunlight when suddenly, a rustling in the bushes sounded.

Vadel leapt up, drawing his sword and pointing it in the direction of the bushes.

"S-show yourself!"
