Darrel was sitting in one of the crappy plastic outdoor chairs, having taken them out of storage. They were dusty and mostly broken down due to years of wear and tear, though it could live through a few more.
He was planning for the gang to sit outside for a while, sit around a fire, and chill out. Not to mention, he had been stressing out because of work. Though he was thankful that he was off tomorrow.
However, the rest of the gang was doing God knows what at this hour. He knew that Ponyboy was with Dallas and Johnny, so he wasn't exactly bothered. He was hoping that Pony would come home somewhat early anyway.
Sat in one of the chairs, he was just throwing some twigs into the fire, making sure it kept going. Tonight was a good night for a fire. It was peaceful and mostly quiet for their neighbourhood anyway.
"Surprised you showed up," Darry stated as he put another twig into the fire. He could hear the gate open, though he knew it was you. It wasn't that hard to tell.
He turned his head to look over his shoulder as he was watching you enter through the gate. He then asked, "Assuming everyone is still busy?"
He didn't mind spending a few hours with you. It wouldn't be that bad.
