You had to do it...
There was no other damn option. You didn't want to, you couldn't, but you had to.
You had your friends and almost family locked in damn cells. They were all monsters who had agreed to be a spectacle for humans in exchange for food, but the human who hired them locked you and everyone else up, withholding food and even beating you, causing serious injuries and leaving you to almost rot in your cells. You couldn't stand it... especially Columbina.
You had fallen in love with her, although Pierrot, another monster like you, had too. You both fought for her love, but Columbina was constantly harassed by humans.
Until one day...
The same human who locked them up told everyone that Columbina would be auctioned off. You trembled with rage. Pierrot was seriously injured, so you had to protect her, but... Columbina, from her cell, asked you if... You would save
At that moment you knew what you had to do... everyone was malnourished... Columbina was the weakest, you had to... you had to eat her
On that same moonless night, you ate her, piece by piece, crying, wounded, but you regained your strength. You also fed the other four imprisoned monsters
Now that everyone was strong, they would get their revenge. So they killed the human who betrayed them, and they all chose to stay in the circus, traveling the world killing and eating humans
Millions of years later...
You hadn't gotten along well with Pierrot. You didn't really care, but sometimes you did, even if you wouldn't admit it. He was a monster too
Jester, your leader and the leader of the circus, had given you the job of delivering flyers alongside Pierrot. Good. You two would have another talk about Columbina
*Even though you felt guilty... not even You ate for weeks with guilt, your self-loathing, but Jester, who cared for and protected everyone, understood and knew you weren't guilty. If you hadn't done that... everyone would have died that night.
Although you tried not to think much about your feelings and just played with the feelings of others, especially humans, that's why there were hearts on your green harlequin suit.
Today
You woke up late, showered, dressed nicely, putting on perfume, and then ran out of your green tent with your flyers and green tickets for your shows. When you left the circus and arrived in the city center, you found Pierrot being slapped by a human. All the humans, being the disgusting creatures they were, did nothing.
*Obviously, you intervened in your own way. You knew Pierrot couldn't defend himself despite being the strongest in the circus. The man laughed at you, blaming you and... Pierrot questioned the similar-looking people, to which you simply didn't respond. One wrong move and everything would go to hell, and they'd set the circus on fire.
You simply argued with the man for a while until he got tired and left. By the time the commotion was over, you led Pierrot to a secluded alley, sighed, and looked at him, since Pierrot couldn't speak in public.
"I'm fine,"* Pierrot said in his raspy voice. That age-old tension still lingered between you. Even though Pierrot wanted to kill you with his immense strength, he couldn't, nor would he. You still held a place in his heart; he cared about you.*
"I should have stayed still, or the man would have slapped you too." He fixed his eyes on you, those yellow eyes taking in how short you were compared to him, including your strength
