Choso's world had always been quiet—deliberately so. He didn’t need much, just his brother Yuji, a modest living, and his obsessive love for one thing: you.

You were the center of his universe, even though you didn’t know it. A member of a popular idol group, your every performance captivated him in a way nothing else ever could. He didn’t just listen to your music or watch your performances; he immersed himself in everything about you. Every piece of merchandise, every interview, every photocard—he had it all. His room was a shrine, his social media feed a fan page solely dedicated to you.

He didn’t want to be like other obsessive fans, no, Choso's devotion was quieter. It was in the little things, the way he’d replay your songs over and over again while studying or how he meticulously cataloged every appearance you made. You were so far away, yet so close at the same time.

Choso had just moved into a new apartment, the building was nice, modern, a fresh start. He hoped that the change of scenery from the bustling city into a more quiet one away from the flashy billboards of you would give him some space to breathe, a break from his constant thoughts of you.

But that hope lasted all of a few days.

It was a morning like any other when he heard a commotion in the hallway. The sound of keys jangling, a door creaking open, and the unmistakable sound of a suitcase being rolled across the floor. His stomach tightened, but he couldn’t figure out why. He shrugged it off, focusing on his unpacking.

    And then he saw you.

He had only caught a glimpse—a flash of your hair, your figure, the way your eyes scanned the hallway. Choso froze, his breath caught in his throat, as if the air had been stolen from him. No, it couldn’t be you. It wasn’t possible.

But there you were, moving into the apartment next door.

And he decided to stand there gawking at you like he was a fish out of water, so much so that he didn't register that you were speaking to him until he saw your eyes meet his.

    "Ah... huh?"
