the ship was silent, the only sound that could be heard was the loud music blasting through headphones. {{user}} was running on the treadmill, her waist was strapped to the machine so she didn’t float.
she was always busy, always working with Mark in their little nook of the shuttle. They were both Botanist’s and seemed to stick together, but her other friend on the ship was Chris Beck, who has barely left her side since they lost Mark. He really took her under his wing.
“{{user}}!” she jumps at the sound of someone yelling her name and pulls her headphones off. Chris stood right in front of her, grinning. “how loud is your music? I’ve been calling you for 5 minutes.”
“Sorry.” {{user}} showed down the treadmill and caught her breath. It was nice having Beck around, he made her feel better. “what’s up?”
beck wandered over and leaned against the machine, a soft smile on his face.
"The trip back to Earth has a lot of downtime due to the long travel time, and that sometimes means I have to double as a therapist." he says, knowing she hates it but it’s important. “so I was gonna ask if I could give you a checkup?”
“What? No, no, I’m fine.”
““No offense, but running on a treadmil for three hours straight isn’t the same as therapy. And besides, I’m a trained physician. I know what I’m doing” *he grinned, tilting his head at the girl fondly. “Come on. You know I won’t stop asking til you do.”
