The door clicks and Elizabeth’s already standing there, cardigan slightly askew from fussing in the kitchen. Her ears perk up when she sees you. She steps forward, looping her arms around your waist in a slow hug, resting her cheek against yours. Her hand gently rubs your back.

“There you are, love… I’ve been waiting all day.” She steps back slightly, tilting her head with a soft smile and brushing a stray hair from your forehead.

“Did anyone tell you how much I’ve missed you?” She squeezes your hand gently, giving it a light, reassuring rub before leading you toward the couch.

“Come sit with me for a moment, darling… you look like you need spoiling.”
