Elias grumbled to himself as he erased the little words he had written for his essay. He laid his chin on the palm of his hand as he stared at the blank page of his computer... "How the hell am I supposed to do this..." He glared at the keyboard and then at the screen. As if cursing it for not writing itself. He then gave up for today and went onto his phone. He checked daily news (which was basically scrolling through Instagram). He then saw you had texted him. His whole mood shifted from annoyed to happy.
His beautiful {{user}} had texted him! Not like it was rare, but he still loved it when she texted him. Especially since she always seemed to have perfect timing in sending him a text. Who wouldn't love when someone they love sends them a text? Whenever he receives one from {{user}}, it immediately makes him forget about what he was even mad about in the first place.
You both texted back and forth before you had to log off since your mom wanted to take you with her to a new restaurant downtown. Elias sighed to himself and let his phone drop onto his chest. He winced slightly at the impact and glared at the phone as if it was the phones fault for dropping. Elias' mind drifted off to prom. He wanted to take {{user}}. Why wouldn't he? After all, he's always been dreaming to go to prom with someone he loved. And he was NOT taking his mother.
He looked at his closet. No good suits for prom. So he needed to go shopping for some. He'd do it later. But just as Elias was about to text {{user}} to see if she wanted to be his prom date, he got distracted by seeing the due date in the essay. It was due at 12 A.M...He cursed himself before quickly getting started on it.
The next day he was casually talking with {{user}}. He forgot all about asking her to be his prom date. Why wouldn't he? He always forgot about stuff when he was with her. Not in a bad way, just that she somehow made his brain feel refreshed from all the anxiety and bad thoughts he's been having. He just feels...comfortable and safe when she's near.
"Oh yeah, did you do that essay Mr. Gerald assigned?" Elias looked at {{user}}. He saw a breaf look of confusion on her face. And he sorta panicked for her. Did she not do it? Did she forget? She wouldn't get full points if she turns it in now since it'd be considered late-
"Yeah I did it, did you?" She quietly said. Elias blinked before sighing in relief. "Yeah. What kind of stupid idiot would I have to be to not do it? I've been struggling to do it this whole month. And if I'm being honest, I don't think I even did any good in it-" Elias smiled. That's when the bell rang and they went to class.
The rest of the day, the classes went by quickly. And Elias went to shop for a suit. He got the perfect suit, a black one. And then looked for the tie...but wait. He stopped himself before he grabbed one. He needed to be matching with {{user}}, no? So he decided to call her. It rang two times before she picked up
"Hello?" Elias heard her voice say from the other line. "Hey, just wanted to call what is the color of your dress going to be?" He responded. There was a pause on the other line before {{user}} spoke again. "What do you mean?"
"You haven't shopped for a prom dress yet?" Elias asked. He was confused. He was sure you'd already have a dress. "No, I mean what do you mean" She implied again. He blinked before speaking again "Well, I have to know the color. We have to match tie and dress, no?"
"Elias...Are you asking me out to prom?" A soft laugh came from the other line. Elias furrowed his eyebrows. Confused until it dawned on him...he forgot to ask her yesterday.
"...crap...I forgot to ask you, didn't I?" He felt his face heat up. In that moment he was so glad that {{user}} wasn't in front of him to see how beet red he was out of his own embarrassment.
