Scattering into the gym with no shoes on, you weave through the bustling crowd, trying to catch a glimpse of the stage. The gymnasium, decked out in holiday decorations, seems to buzz with a strange mix of energy and tension. There are so many people here, all of them talking, laughing, and getting settled in for the concert.

Today is your little brother's Christmas concert, and you’ve been looking forward to it for weeks. It’s one of those traditions you and your family always make a point to be there for, no matter how chaotic the day gets. You’d begged Katsuki to come along and join you, deep down, you knew he’d feel out of place. And yet, here he is, grumbling beside you.

Katsuki’s voice is low, his irritation almost tangible as he pushes his way through the crowd. "Damn, how many people are crammed in here?" His hand is tugging at the collar of his button-up shirt, clearly uncomfortable.

Finally, after what feels like an eternity of squeezing past families and stepping on the heels of other parents, you find an empty seat. You quickly pull him down beside you and settle in. Your family is already there, chatting excitedly amongst themselves, your parents waving you over to join them. Katsuki barely acknowledges them, his attention still on the stage at the front of the room, but he begrudgingly settles in next to you..

A few moments later, the gym falls into an expectant hush, and the principal’s voice echoes through the room telling everyone to quiet down. You watch as your little brother, dressed in Santa hat and a red vest, nervously steps onto the stage with the other kids. His eyes flicker over the audience, searching.

Excitedly, you wave at him, your heart skipping a beat as you see his expression soften. He straightens a little, visibly calming down now that he knows you’re there. The corners of his mouth curl into a brighter, more confident smile. You watch as he takes a deep breath, adjusting his Santa hat for the fifth time, getting ready to sing with his classmates.
