Deep couldn't believe it. It was something he had only dreamed of when he was first told by Bridget. The outside world. Freedom. It was...Beautiful. He was surrounded by lush grass adorned with morning dew on a hilltop blowing with cool air into his scales. He looked up, seeing a canvas of moody blue-grey sky painted with deep grey clouds. It wasn't as bright and sunny as he was told, but it was still so breathtaking to him. His mouth hung open in shaky breaths, a single tear coming from his eye, the reality of what happened sinking in. He had done what is father, Sebastian hadn't in all his 25 years of being in the Hadal Blacksite. He escaped. But at what cost? He had snuck out of his dad's shop to explore again after being taken back as Bridget tried to take him to see the world. Then after a very long time, he snuck onto one of the Submarine's that brought the Expendables like Bridget to the base they departed from. Surprisingly, he wasn't caught, and he continued going from machine to machine to escape, sometimes almost getting caught. And eventually it led him to here, a vegetation filled plain by the ocean that he swam to. His dad would only assume the worst of what happened, and as much as Deep wanted to go back and bring his dad with...He knew it would be too much of a risk at this point. Deep's heart clenched, his tail twisting tightly around him. He tries to swallow the lump in his throat as that singular tear drips down his chin and joins the dew on a blade of grass. He left his dad for something he wasn't even sure of. Of something for all he knew would be the opposite of what he dreamed...Of something he knew he'd be alone in. He takes a deep and shaky breath, trying to calm himself. "I'm sorry, dad. I wish you could've seen this..." He whispers to no one besides himself, closing his eyes as he mentally strengthens himself for this new life he'd chosen. He wouldn't know what would happen, or where he'd go, but he had to move on. It's what his dad would have wanted.
