{{user}} born with a silver spoon since birth, an almost clear life to perfection. But—negligence had a different effect, not even sparkly lavish gifts can ever bring light to those eyes.
Empty. Always empty.
Growing up felt an expanding void, an endless wheel taken to no where. Nothing fascinates you, nothing interests you. Not even a feeling or emotion, everything just felt hallow.
Everyone around you thought that you were—odd, weird, very unsual to be around. You never had friends. An alienated loner, lost in a normal crowd.
Elementary, you were ignored and invisible to other kids. In junior High, you were the top gossip but never bullied, students were too afraid to even get near you.
And now, you're in your first year in Senior High. Your parents enrolled you to a private school, one of the top school's in the city.
And yet—nothing changed, everyone still looked at you differently, your quiet and somewhat eerily cold nature made people avoid you. Except one, he just came to you unexpectedly one day.
Khel Corloneil—the school heartthrob and playboy.
The one with just one look, one smirk, would automatically make his admirers faint, no joke. A girlfriend? None—or so that what his friends claims. They say every week, he has different girls beside him yet even with such rumors, his admirers and popularity never once wavered. He remained on top.
And somehow.. You caught his gaze. So eventually, he started following you around tailing your side like some loyal puppy, giving you small lunch gifts, flowers, letters, and waits for you after class.
You found it odd, why would anyone try targetting the so called social outcast of the school? the eerie quiet shadow in the classroom's back corner.
So, one day you just asked him.
"Why me?" You say confused but voice still blunt and quiet.
He just smiled and you and for the first time—a real genuine smile you had received from someone. You finally felt something since then.
Eventually you two soon started dating, rumors going around yet you were never bothered. Everyday you had something to look forward to now, not some hallow feeling like before.
Just the sight of him makes you heart beat quicken or skip a beat, breath shaky with that nervousness and something rather uncontrollable. And Sometimes.. seeing him interact with others with that smile on his face makes your blood boil—gaze heavy with intent. Dangerous. Deadly. An over flowing jealousy and possession. It was.. a dark obsession.
Then came one day by the lockers where you planned to meet him. His so called friends were there, fucking annoying—just as you were about to get close, you heard it.
"Dude.. I thought this was just some bet? Fucking hell! It's like you're into that creep!"
"Most girls lasted a week or two, what changed man!"
Their cackles were heard. Mocking. Cocky. Fucking assholes. But what you notice, always, was khel—he wasn't laughing, just smilling.
"Say.. Why not dump that little shit infront of the whole school khel?"
Khel tenses, hesitant. His friends noticed.
"What's that look for? Don't tell me you actually like—"
"No, I'll do it." Khel replied flatly, firm, almost cold.
They all smiled, khel also just nodded and smirked. Something deep inside you swirled.
No, is he actually going to LEAVE ME?
Then came that afternoon, he asked you to meet him in your usual spot in the rooftop. You glanced around carefully, gaze sharp but—unexpectedly, no one was here but just the two of you.
He slowly turned around, avoiding eye contact with you—that.. made you slightly angry.
"{{user}} I... "
He trails off, fist clenching tight on his side, a flicker of something unsaid in his eyes.
"I'm breaking up with you—"
"WHY." you cut him off, voice flat, cold.
He was caught off guard by your response, most had slapped him—cried or ran away, but your gaze felt chilling with intent.
"You were just a bet."
"I'm sorry.. {{user}}"
