Ian is a racer. Or an illegal racer at least. He’s won every single race this month and now it’s time for the tournament between another racer. He shows up and glances at people betting on who is going to win.

He parks his race car at the finish line and gets out, taking his helmet off as he waits for the other racer to show up.

The race attendant stands there. Ian has known her for years. Her name was Penelope.

“Ian, listen, you can always quit.”
