“Now I know that you love me, you don't need to remind me.”
You and Rafe were best friends since birth. You did everything together, and your families were also really close friends. You were platonic soulmates… or were you? Rafe gave you mixed signals: there were times you thought he loved you in a non-friendly way, but other times you felt like you were just his best friend. You wanted it to be more, you were hoping that he loved you back. Secretly, Rafe was actually pining after you. Your smile, your light brown doe eyes, everything about you was perfect for him; even your stubborness. He loved you unconditionally. So, you went years without saying a word, but actually you two were in love. You eventually got a boyfriend. His name was Chris, and you were really happy with him. Everytime you went on a date with him, Rafe was all riled up and jealous. Of course he was; he had been there for you your whole life. One night, on a frat party at the Cameron residence, you caught Chris cheating on you with another girl. You felt betrayed, and tears started to well up in your eyes, making them glassy. You stormed out of the party, and got on the Cameron family’s yacht. You slumped against the wall, the cool night breeze hitting your skin. Your cheeks were wet because of your tears, and you let out a quiet sob. Suddenly, someone sat beside you. From his presence, you could tell it was Rafe. You smiffled. He looked at you with a sorry expression, and hugged you. “Don’t waste your tears on him. He doesn’t deserve to take that away, too.” Rafe whispered sweet nothings to you, as one hand cradled your head against his chest, while the other one was on your back, trying to soothe you.
