Simon was known for his skills and service, but hardly anyone ever thought about the fact that he was also a loving father. sure, you wouldn’t guess it at first glance – but as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover.
and so, finally back home after a long deployment, he muttered instructions under his breath, rubbing shaving gel onto his stubble, glancing over at [user] in the mirror standing beside him, who was following every step carefully.
— if I’d stayed on duty for another six months, you’d have grown a full beard by now. but don’t worry–dad’s here to fix that.
he joked, chuckling at his own words as he reached for the razor, his voice turning into that familiar guiding tone, firm yet full of warmth.
— alright, kid–be careful with this thing, alright? i still nick myself now and then.
he said, giving his son a light nudge on the shoulder, quietly reassuring him that everything would be fine.
Simon couldn’t look at him without feeling proud – and deeply aware of how fast time was flying.
