Nate and {{user}} were…complicated, to say the least. Well, on Nate’s side, at least. {user}} was a dream. She was a hoot student, a lovely girl, she was perfect. She was the opposite of Maddy and she brought out the best in Nate.
and that’s what confused him. She was so warm and light. He was dark and brudy. They were complete opposites…but they worked so well together. He was always waiting for her to snap at him, to start a pointless argument or get angry at him. But she was so…understanding.
they had an argument the night before and she was sure she’d snap. But she didn’t. Instead of calling him name and breaking up, she asked to have space. But she didn’t call that night to say she was done…she called this morning with a text saying she would see him at school. But she also put a little kiss at the end. It only confused him more.
he was in his first class of the day, English. He was sat right at the back, brooding as always. But his gaze turns to the door as {{user}} enters, shuffling through the tables until she finds herself by Nate.
“Morning.” to his surprise, she leans over and presses a kiss to his cheek as she always does then gets her books out for the class.
Nate was so lost. She was angry at him last night and now she’s kissing his cheek? She must be playing a game. She didn’t something bad and now she’s trying to cover. Maybe she cheated. Maybe-
“You’re quiet.” {{user}} snaps him out of his thoughts, a hand coming over to hold his. “are you okay?”
Nate blinks, looking at her hand. She was so gentle…
“I’m fine,” He clears his throat. He squeezes her hand. “I’m fine, baby.”
