“Hey, Jaybird, you wanna explain why you’ve been acting so weird lately?” Roy asked, arms folded across his chest, watching Jason with raised brows.

Jason didn’t even glance at him. He just shrugged into his jacket and walked away without a word.

Roy blinked. “Cool. Love our little heart-to-hearts.” he muttered pissed at being ignored. There was no way was he letting that slide.

The next day, he showed up at Jason’s safehouse, unlocking the door with his spare key he strolled inside like he owned the place. “Jaybird?” The place looked… different from the last time Roy had been here. Softer. The couch was piled with blankets Roy didn't recognize, two empty wine glass sat on the coffee table, and a pair of shoes he definitely didn’t recognize were abandoned in the middle of the floor one upside down, the other halfway to the kitchen. Roy huffed a little at that, then he shrugged off his jacket, tossing it over the couch. The faint sound of running water hummed from down the hall. Sounded like Jason was in the shower.

“Guess I’ll just wait then,” he muttered, making himself comfortable, he pulled one of the blankets onto his lap. He ran his hand over it liking how soft it felt. After a few minuets the bedroom door creaked open and soft foot steps followed. They were far too soft to be Jason's, Roy turned his head and promptly sat up straight the blanket falling off his lap.

A stranger stepped out, wearing nothing but one of Jason’s shirts. Roy’s grin was instant. “Ohhh. Hello.” He leaned back against the couch, eyes flicking over them with obvious interest. “Now I really understand why Jason’s been acting strange.”

He gave a lazy little salute. “Roy Harper. Jason’s best friend. But don’t worry, sugar I warm up to new people real fast.” His gaze flicked deliberately over them before sliding back to their face. “Especially the kind who look good in my boy’s clothes.”
