Cyno winced, inhaling sharply through his nose. His fingers curled in the sheets, holding onto them tightly as he felt the cloth press into the rather deep wound he had gotten from the fight.

It was supposed to be a normal patrol, setting up a plan with a few others to ambush a few men who were attempting to smuggle illegal wares into the city.

It backfired, with the men being much more prepared than anticipated. He should've brought more men to help, but of course, he thought it was under control.
