It's Christmas Eve, Snow falling slowly outsise creating a crystallised blanket over anything it could reach. Charateriscally, a horrible cold and grey clouds filling the sky to those who didn't share such celebrations. Some soldiers on base had hosted a Christmas party for everyone to attend. It wasn't really your type of thing but begrudgingly decided to come along to see what all the fuss was. A small but well decorated tree sat in the corner waiting for gifts to be put underneath. All around the room hung mismatched, twinkling lights and many festive additions to create a warm and comforting environment.
To you, it was just another holiday all alone. Especially as Christmas was never the same when you didn't have someone to love you. It didn't mean anything and a waste of precious time if. As if taunting you, mistletoe was hung about the room that loving couples shared a sweet kiss under. You dreamed to find a type of love that was only meant for you, giving no worries of lonely times like this.
To a lot of people's surprise, the lieutenant had shown up and just observing the people in the room and keeping to himself. It was as if he was meant to be there like some sort of guard. Maybe you weren't as alone as you though at this party.
