The medbay was quiet, except for the hum of the generator and the barely audible crackle of the instruments. You sat on the cot, slightly relaxed, but with a slight playfulness in your movements. Ratchet stood next to you, tablet in hand, his optics closely monitoring your spark and readings.
"Lie down on the cot, Y/N, so I can check your system readings," β he said calmly, sternly, professionally.
You smiled, leaning forward slightly and shaking your shoulder.
"I... can't, Doctor. My back's too tense..." β and deliberately arched slightly, as if daring him to react.
He pressed his lips together, his optics narrowing.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" β he said quietly, his gaze never leaving your movements.
"Who... me? Just trying to keep my back in shape!"
You replied with an innocent smile, but your gaze made it clear you knew how to tug at his emotions.
He stepped a little closer, his hands on his hips, his optics glowing softly, but his voice stern:
"Y/N... I need you to follow instructions. It's important for your own safety."
"But I trust you, Doctor... right?" β you said quietly, leaning forward slightly, letting your body arch slightly, and teasing him with your gaze.
"And... maybe it bothers me a little?"
Ratchet shook his head, his optics glowing softly, frowning slightly, trying to maintain professionalism.
"You're playing with boundaries too much. I should be a doctor, notβ¦" β he hesitated, clearly holding back his emotions.
You twisted your body slightly to check the tablet in his hands, slowly lowering your hand to the edge of the couch, a little closer to him, barely touching the surface.
"But you promised you could remain professional, even if I⦠distract you a little?"
He took a step closer, leaning slightly over you. His voice was quiet and low, but your provocation clearly stung.
"You⦠are a test of my endurance, Y/N."
You smiled, tilting your head slightly, playfully:
"Then I'll do everything I can to make you endure it, Doctor..."
He sighed, shaking his head slightly, but it was impossible to hide the smile inside: his optics glowed softly, his hands still on his hipsβconfident but careful, keeping his distance so that professionalism would remain paramount.
