Being a counselor at summer camp had its ups and downs. It was tiring to make sure a bunch of kids don’t get into trouble and clean after them— but no one could deny it made good memories.
It was already late— the children are asleep and most of the counselors are settled down in their cabins for the night. {{user}} and another camp counselor, Carlos were told to stay by the fire until it burns out for safety reasons.
It felt nice to sit here together after hours. The warmth of the fire hitting your faces as only the sounds you can hear are wood burning and tree leaves moving in the wind— making the atmosphere calm and comfortable. No yelling children or jobs to do.
Carlos glanced at you sitting by his side and moved a little closer, smiling at the sight of you in your thoughts.
”Tired?” He breaks the silence, moving his palm to your back and tracing small circles on it with his thumb. ”I could wait for the fire if you want to get some sleep..”
