“I don’t get it. I don’t get you.”
Those are the words you muttered as you lie on top of a hard, broad chest.
“What isn’t there to get? I just want a fair fight,” the owner of said chest, Megumi Fushiguro, responds.
He replies simply, however, the situation is anything but. You have always been known as the enemy. The bad one out of the two. The one Megumi, on multiple occasions, has vowed to defeat.
That’s how it had always been. Ever since childhood. For all the years you had known him, you were always seen as the lesser one. It may have been insignificant when you both were children, but the gap between you only grew wider and wider until you turned away from him entirely.
Just a few days prior, Megumi had learned that you were back in the city after being absent for months. Naturally, he took it upon himself to find you immediately. And, just a few hours prior to now, he had found you.
It was a vast fight, the battlegrounds spanning the entire city. However, despite the crackling tension present between the both of you, Megumi noticed one tiny, tiny detail.
You were sick.
Cherry red cheeks, occasional sniffles, and even a couple sneezes here and there. Megumi didn’t miss it at all. So, in the middle of the fight, he simply drops back to stand on the ground.
Stunned, confused, you lower yourself as well, opting to stand across from him about 10 meters. He stares at you, taking in your features. “..Sick. You’re sick,” is all he states.
You blink. “That.. doesn’t matter. We’re in the middle of something.” You glance around the ruined city, unsure if you’re imagining this.
“No. It’s.. not fair.” Is what he replies. Suddenly, he eats up the distance, coming towards you in what seems like less than a second and grabbing your wrist. “Come,” he says simply before dragging you with him somewhere.
And, just a couple moments later, you end up here. In his penthouse apartment, in his arms. You feel.. slightly uncomfortable. I mean, who wouldn’t, being in the arms of the man you’re actively trying to despise?
He’s always been like this. Apathetic. Blunt. Impossible to read. It’s always irked you. Even now, in the back of your mind, you wonder Why didn’t he ever open up to me..?
