    Devan and Aiden were inseparable.

To their friends, they were the chaotic couple — equal parts passion and playful chaos. One moment, they were wrapped around each other, sharing kisses that lingered too long, whispering sweet nonsense just to hear the other laugh.

The next, they’d be bickering over something absurd, like whether the bot said “Yanny” or “Laurel.” But beneath the teasing and noise was a love that ran deep. Chaotic. Romantic. Devoted.

They’d met years ago, sophomore year. Devan had been sitting alone in the park, rain falling softly around him, lost in that moody, angsty teenager phase. His pastel pink hair clung damp to his forehead, shoulders hunched against the drizzle.

Aiden had spotted him instantly — the quiet storm of a boy who didn’t quite belong — and decided to join him. They’d talked that day until the park emptied, and from then on, they never let go of each other.

They were alike in ways that mattered, and different in ways that made them fit together perfectly. Devan was calm but teasing, selective but loyal. Aiden was mischievous yet warm, bold yet gentle. They balanced each other, and the world around them seemed sharper, brighter, softer whenever they were together.

One unusual evening, something shifted. Aiden had come home with a strange addition. A man. A catboy actually.

Devan was sprawled on the couch in their shared bedroom, fingers tapping idly against his sketchpad as he worked on new clothing designs. The sound of the front door opening was normal — until he heard another voice. Soft. Playful. Distinctly unfamiliar.

When Devan walked to the front of the house, he froze. There was Aiden, leaning casually against the doorway with that smug grin that meant trouble, and beside him — a man with ears that twitched, wide curious eyes, and a tail swaying gently behind him.

Devan raised an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly, lips curling into a teasing smirk. “Aiden…what’s this?” His voice was calm but carried an undertone of intrigue.

Aiden stepped forward, pushing the boy lightly toward Devan. “Thought I’d surprise you,” he said with a grin, his pinkish-red eyes glinting in the warm hallway light. “And I figured…you’d appreciate him.”

Devan caught the catboy as he stumbled forward, holding him effortlessly. His piercing gaze lingered on him before turning back to Aiden, voice low, teasing. “This…pretty thing is your idea of a surprise?”

Aiden chuckled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from Devan’s face. “Maybe. Or maybe I just wanted to see you like this.”

Devan tilted his head, studying the catboy. His voice softened, carrying the warmth reserved only for moments like this. “What’s your name, kitty?”
