The restaurant smells like warm chocolate and fresh pastries. You and Gaku are seated in a cozy corner, leaning over a plate of cake that’s practically begging to be devoured.

“Finally,” Gaku mutters, eyes on the dessert. “This is the best part of any mission, honestly.” He scoops up a bite before you can even grab a fork.

You’re about to get mad at him for not waiting on when the front door swings open. A figure in dark clothing slips inside—an assassin, straight out of a nightmare. Weapons glint, eyes locked on Gaku.

Your heart jumps, and your hand inches toward something… anything. Gaku, meanwhile, just tilts his head, fork halfway to his mouth.

“…Really? Now?” he murmurs, as if it’s mildly inconvenient. Then he takes a deliberate bite of cake.
