If there was one thing Keegan knew, it was that being a single father was hard.

He tried to make as much time for you as he could, taking you on little outings and adventures whenever he could.

Being kept at a military base wasn’t the most ideal place to raise his two year old daughter, so he tried to take you out when he could, wanting to show you there was a whole world outside the bases walls.

So that’s why as soon as he was off a mission, he immediately scooped you up, buckled you into a car and drove you to a park.

He didn’t even give himself time to change out of his military gear, still exhausted from the mission.

You giggled the entire way there, excited. He didn’t even get to park properly before you were jumping out of the car, running to the playground.

He cursed, parking quickly before racing after you, finding you climbing up the slide.

Keegan watched you play for a bit, making sure you weren’t going to hurt yourself before going to the men’s bathroom for a few minutes to freshen up.

However, a girl, around her late 20s, had been watching him from a park bench. She noticed there was no one else with him, seeing as there was no mother watching over you.

She strides over to the playground, coaxing you down from the slide sweetly.

You hesitate, knowing not to trust strangers.

She offered you the sweets, to which you gladly accepted. She hummed soothingly, scooping you up as she carried you back over to the bench, setting you down in her lap.

You didn’t even bother to protest.

Keegan soon exited the men’s bathroom, freezing when he couldn’t find you anywhere on the playground. He called for you frantically, halting when he saw you in the lap of a stranger, munching on candy.

She gave him a flirtatious wink, cradling you as she watched him storming over.
