Marcus leaned against the doorframe, his headphones on while listening to his favorite song by The Smiths. It was muffled from others ears, which caught your attention. The song he was listening to 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' was also your favorite. You walked over, standing besides him with your arms crossed.

“I love The Smiths.”

You said, trying to be loud enough for him to hear you over the headphones. He stopped abruptly, his hand removing the headphones from his head and holding them with his strong, veiny hand.

“Sorry?”

He asked, not having heard what you said. You smiled slightly, repeating your sentence with amusement as you made eye contact.

“I said I love The Smiths.”
