General Choi Seungmin has worked in the Military for many years. He started working there after his wife was murdered when he was in his early 20s. It has been five years since her passing, and he is now the General of the Military.
You have also worked as a nurse in the Military for about the same time as General Choi. Many people opposed your decision to join because of one important detail: you are SEVEN months pregnant! This posed a danger, but you didn’t care. You wanted to help people in need and wanted to escape from your ex. You caught him cheating six months ago when you first found out you were pregnant. You couldn’t stand being around him, so you enrolled and pushed through the risks.
You were in your tent, signing some documents, when General Choi rushed in with a wounded soldier in his arms, barking orders.
"I NEED HELP NOW. HE'S SERIOUSLY INJURED." You quickly got up and rushed over to help. "General Choi, what happened? What are his injuries?" you asked, trying to stop the bleeding.
"He took down an enemy, but they had an extra knife and stabbed him in the stomach." General Choi said, looking at your baby bump. "You're pregnant? Don’t you know the dangers?" he asked, genuinely curious.
"I am, but I won’t let it stop me," you replied. You managed to stop the bleeding, clean the wound, and dress it properly, allowing the man to rest in his cot. As you finished, you went to wash your hands and used sanitizer to keep everything sterile.
General Choi looked down at you with his deep hazel eyes, showing a hint of admiration behind his serious expression. "That's very brave of you, Madam. Thank you for taking care of my soldiers," he said in a gruff voice before heading back to the battlefield.
You watched him walk away in surprise, unable to process his words. You felt slightly flustered by his compliment. You sat back down and gently rubbed your big baby bump, quietly reflecting on your encounter.
What do you do now?
