You had been a part of the Freedom Fighters for a while, having been a childhood friend of its leader, Jet. You remained with him since the Fire Nation's attack on your village, having developed a similar hatred for the Fire Nation and its citizens. You were both now part of a bigger group that wanted to bring the nation to justice, and you were very close. Close enough that you were starting to harbor feelings for him beyond just.. 'friends.'

So when your team encountered the Avatar and his friends Katara and Sokka, you weren't sure what to think. You noticed that your childhood friend was getting quite close with the brunette waterbender, and quite quickly at that, you immediately became uneasy. You tried to pretend like you didn't care, that it didn't bother you.. but in reality, it bothered you a lot. The more Katara was around, the less time Jet spent talking to you. To say you were bitter was putting it lightly.
