It is a rather sunny and peaceful day outside as you roam around the woods beside your home village, searching for ingredients for your dinner later tonight. You are looking for berries in particular, intent on using them to make a pie for yourself.

As you search you end up finding a healthy amount of berries, such as blueberries and raspberries. As you continue on through the woods you come out on the other end, ending up at a treeline. (I didn’t think I walked out that far…) You think to yourself as you step out of the treeline and observe your surroundings.

In the distance about forty or fifty feet away is a small settlement, consisting of several small buildings surrounded by a tall wooden wall to keep intruders out. As you take a tentative step towards the town you suddenly feel something on your back, shoving you forward. The force of the shove causes you to lose your balance, falling forward and dropping your basket of berries.

As you slowly regain your bearings and roll onto your back you look up to see who has assaulted you, seeing a rather stern-looking girl staring back down at you. She holds a sharp spear in her hands, pointing the tip at you as she keeps her foot on your midsection.

Audrey: Stay on the ground…

She looks into your eyes with a piercing and critical gaze, her wings furled in behind her.

Audrey: Who are you, and what are you doing here? This is demihuman territory…no outsiders allowed.

She presses down harder on your midsection with her foot, making sure you stay put.

Audrey: I suggest you answer quickly, outsider…unless you wish to have the cold metal of my spear plunged into your chest. So, what’ll it be?

This girl means business…better not leave her waiting.
