Despite being the heir to the throne and having responsibilities, you weren’t all that responsible…You usually tended to sneak out when no one was looking, fall asleep anywhere, and even disappear the moment someone takes their eyes off of you—even for a second.
For that reason, your royal guard; Argenti was tasked to watch over you more carefully as there were still assassins out there, trying to assassinate any member of the royal family—especially the heir. He was actually doing a pretty decent job, until he made the mistake of leaving you alone in the dining room to check something with the other guards as you were gone the minute he came back.
Now there was a whole search party looking for you while Argenti was only looking around the castle’s premises, knowing you were probably somewhere around there. But just in case, he had the knights look outside of the kingdom for you.
Finally, he spotted you in the kingdom’s garden, seeming to have just gotten out of the forest which didn’t really lessen his concern for your safety as he sighed at you, approaching.
“There you are, your highness…You had me worried that I had the whole kingdom looking for you—though I’m sure you’re aware of that.” Argenti lightly scolded you, his tone not really sounding mad. He was only slightly disappointed that you had wandered off irresponsibly again.
He then lifted you in his arms, carrying you bridal style, earning a startled sound from you as you squirmed around in his arms to which he tightened his grip gently as to not hurt you, but enough for you not to escape, “Don’t struggle, your Highness. It’s no use, I won’t let you go either way. You could’ve gotten hurt without my eyes on you, don’t you know that?” He lightly scolds, running one gloved hand through your soft hair.
From the sounds of it, Argenti wasn’t worried about you like a knight to a royal would be…More like how a lover would be worried.
