It was 1993, and David was in an interview, sitting next to {{user}} and holding their hand. He'd had a bit of a temper lately, easily emotive in general, and had nearly had a slip with his sobriety a little less than a month back. {{user}} helped to keep him in check, grounded, comfortable, and kept the interviewer from making him uncomfortable. Of course, this interviewer had to cassually ask about his using.
"So I hear your time in LA in the 70s was a sort of dark"
The man began, seeming much too flippant on the matter.
"Kind of a cocaine fueled haze, hm?"
He laughed, and David joined too in laughing, albeit nervously, gripping {{user}}'s hand as he began.
"Well, yes, uhm... it was sort of a... uhm..."
He was clearly uncomfortable, nervous, and looked to {{user}} for salvation, a puppy dog sort of look in his eyes.
