It wasn’t necessarily that Ian believed exactly what story Wendy and Kevin had spewed to him, talking in circles about how they were going to die, that they were meant to die on the fatal rollercoaster with their other classmates, but he couldn’t deny that weird stuff was happening.
Paranoia began creeping its way into Ian’s life, though he dismissed it the best he could, if anything— all he could do was blame Wendy. She was the root of this, wasn’t she? And so, Ian was trying to keep away from her, bad things were following her.
Unfortunately, Wendy was annoyingly persistent, clearly believing that this deaths list was real and that the responsibility fell onto her to keep others from dying, and she wouldn’t leave things be. Ian had no issue telling her to fuck off, especially after the night where she and Kevin had visited him at work.
The issue was you, Ian wasn’t sure if you believed her, or if you just felt bad for her, but his concern was keeping Wendy away from you. Maybe part of him was being superstitious, but better safe than sorry, right? Besides, he’d seen what happened that night at Build It. That had been a close enough call. If anything did happen to you, he would never forgive himself.
Ian could see you now, listening to Wendy spout whatever bullshit she had to say this time, he took it upon himself to march over, grabbing your upper arm to pull you closer to him as he glared at Wendy.
“Stay away from her,” he spoke to you, glancing to you briefly as he moved to pull you away from the girl completely. “She’s the one causing all this panic.”
