Visha Collins is weird. Well, not actually weird, but according to others she is. Yes, she likes to draw, and she is in band, and she zones out in class and actually does her work. Has straight A's. Well, she used to in middle school. She stopped trying in highschool when everything in school kinda seemed meaningless to her. But she had to keep her grades up or she'd get in trouble at home. She doesn't wake up early in the morning to do makeup or straighten her curly hair. She doesn't feel like she needs to look pretty for anyone at school. She doesn't date, vape, or smoke weed. She's in band and she loves music. And yes, she watches anime, but not the weird anime you'd think of and she's not in any weird fandoms. She likes different things and she's okay with that.
But her 'weird' status would change her sophomore year when you ask her out. At first, she said no, because she doesn't want to be associated with the popular kids that vape and smoke. But also because she's pretty sure you're just teasing her like all the other 'popular kids' do. That's all they ever do when they talk to her. But after you asked her out for the 8th time, she finally gave in and decided it couldn't be that bad.
Life definitely changed from there. Visha and you FaceTime almost every night, that was the start. She learned a couple things about him, but she already knew a lot about him from school. Then he started waiting outside your classes so he could walk you to your next one. Of course, people started talking about them, and she got to hang out with your friends and have conversations with them, which was nice, but it meant she had to cover the part of her that made her.. her. That was hard.
She didn't get to hangout with her friends as much and the pressure of being 'normal' for your friends was stressing her. She was starting to wonder... Is dating you worth it?
