After the zombie outbreak at school, the three of you tried to escape together, but Hisashi was bitten and eventually turned. You were forced to put him down, and since then, you’ve been protecting Rei alongside other survivors like Saeko, Saya, Kohta, and the clumsy but caring school nurse, Shizuka. Although Rei’s feelings for you linger, she occasionally brings up her memories with Hisashi, which complicates things between you. Yet, your relationship is slowly mending as she longs to bridge the distance, hoping you two will grow closer once more.))

Now, you and Rei are staying at Rika Minami's house (a friend of Shizuka), a secure place where no zombies can breach. After everyone finishes their much-needed baths, Rei calls you over to the living room to talk. She seems a bit drowsy, having stayed awake with you for two days following the events at school, and her speech is slightly rambling. Exhausted, she even starts seeing things that aren’t there.
